Sewer survey deliverables
Sewer survey deliverables are defined prior to the survey taking place and may consist of all or some of the deliverables listed below.
Each survey is documented in a report that is provided as a hard copy and includes a DVD/CD-ROM with drawings, tables and any video in digital form. The report includes:
- Discussion of findings
- Spreadsheets and databases
- Photographs
- Site safety procedures
- Quality control procedures
- Daily field reports

Selected sonar profiles.
In some instances a specific sonar profile indicates additional information that may be helpful, or shows unexpected anomalies or features.
For this reason selected profiles may be included in the report.

AutoCAD X,Y and Z data.
The sonar profiles, the motion reference data and payout figures are recorded to our proprietary software. The software is also used for quality control and post processing, and outputs X,Y and Z files suitable for computer rendering.
A DVD/CD-ROM disk with AutoCAD drawings created from these files, and with other specified information, is provided.

Sonar rendered as 3D images.
The sonar profile data can be rendered as a 3D image. This aids visualization and helps illustrate trends that are present in the pipeline. Sonar data rendered as 3D is ideal when used to measure and show:
- Position of submerged laterals or holes
- Position and volume of sludge and other buildup
- Quantity of scour and/or erosion
- Area and position of damage
|
 |
|
Graphic rendering of pipe restrictions.
The sonar data can be graphically rendered to show actual pipe cross-sectional shape, diameter, and the percentage of flow restriction.
|
 |
|
Video with sonar picture-in-picture (PIP).
The recorded digital CCTV video image includes the PIP sonar cross-section showing below-waterline conditions. This method is ideal for measuring and investigating:
- Position of submerged laterals or holes
- Area and position of damage
- Area and position of turbulence
The recorded video can be supplied on an external hard drive or DVDs. |

WRc/PACP/Your specific coding.
The sewer survey is conducted according to the Water Research Centre (WRc plc, Swindon, UK) Sewerage Rehabilitation Manual (4th Ed), or the Pipeline Assessment & Certification Program (PACP), or following specific coding standards provided to us.
All findings are tabulated in Microsoft Access and are supplied as a hard copy or in digital format on DVD/CD.

Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
An RTK GPS System/Robotic Total Station can be used to collect geo-referenced data for each manhole.
The following information can be supplied:
- Photographs, video
- Data export: ASCII, Shapefile, DXF files
- Coordinate system conversion: LLA, UTM and State Plane
- Labeling: labels based on attributes or predefined values
- Spreadsheet / database
